When it comes to photoshoots, Balboa Park has always been a location that screams “Historic San Diego”. It has the most beautiful Spanish architecture. And it’s one of my favorite locations for a formal attire family photoshoot, which I think is something everyone should do once in their lifetime as a family. And I believe this is the spot in San Diego to do it. Not only does it offer the long hallways and arches, but it also offers fountains, Koi Ponds with blossoming lily pads, blooming rose gardens, and a lush green cactus garden. It also offers the lovely Japanese Friendship Garden, which is the host to many beautiful wedding celebrations, which I’ve had the honor of shooting at once in my photography career. The park has so much to offer with lively music, and tourists and locals buzzing through it. Afterwards, you can take your fancied up selves to the Prado Restaurant for good food & drinks and chill in their lovely atmosphere. It’s just one of the many fine San Diego restaurants from the Cohn Group that just happens to reside in this historic place.
Even if you don’t get fancy for this location, if you’re a San Diegian, or even an out of towner looking for a beautiful spot to capture your family, high school senior, or engagement celebration, this location will certainly not disappoint.
