I just love when my clients start thinking about where they’re going to do their holiday shoot. We go through all of the places we haven’t shot before and usually come up with a location. But sometimes it’s the clothing that brings the perfect location to mind. And in this case, this dress chose the historic San Diego location of Balboa Park for its debut. The second I saw her in this dress, I wanted it! It’s one of the many Anthropologie finds that is not only flattering, but it says “on trend”, and it screams, “classic”. And classic is always a good thing when you’re planning your holiday photoshoot wardrobe. Remember, these photos are meant to last a lifetime, and what you’re wearing should also stand the test of time too.
For this location, that is so rich in architecture, color, and historic charm, this dress was the perfect look. I always encourage my female clients to choose their outfit first, because we are usually the most challenging to dress, and then choose looks for everyone else after. I love how she stands out! I believe that moms are truly the center of the family, and so the photographs will display that perfectly. It’s not too early to be thinking about what you’re going wear to your next shoot.
